The Jungle Book Filmmaker Jon Favreau Visits Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park as it Premieres New Nighttime Show Inspired by Film Park’s Amazing New Nighttime Fun Includes the New “The Jungle Book: Alive With Magic” Musical Show, Safari After Dark, Festive Evening Entertainment, Signature Restaurant and More What: Filmmaker and actor Jon Favreau, who directed Disney’s blockbuster hit The Jungle Book, spent his Memorial Day weekend at Walt Disney World Resort.

Favreau and his family took time on vacation to support the premiere of the new nighttime musical at Disney’s Animal Kingdom that is inspired by the hit movie. Favreau was in the 5,000-seat amphitheater filled to capacity for the debut of “The Jungle Book: Alive With Magic.” Afterward, he congratulated members of the cast and talked about how it felt to collaborate with Disney on the limited-engagement musical that celebrates the film through Indian-inspired music and dance, vibrant costumes, and live performances of familiar songs from the movie. Guests who now visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort will be treated to extended hours with new entertainment and experiences that come alive with roaring, soaring magic into the night — offering something for guests of all ages to experience the park in a whole new way. These includes:

  • Guests will be able to experience some of their favorite attractions in a whole new way at night including Expedition Everest, Kali River Rapids, Primeval Whirl and more. The iconic Tree of Life awakens with magical moving imagery of the animal world that appears to be alive throughout the tree.
  • Kilimanjaro Safaris at night will allow guests to travel through the African savanna amid the orange glow of the setting sun and see intriguing nighttime animal behaviors .
  • Tiffins, an all-new signature dining experience opens to guests – celebrating the art of traveling and featuring cuisine and beverages from places that inspired the creation of the park

• Disney’s Animal Kingdom welcomes The Harambe Wildlife Parti, a high-energy cultural explosion of music, dance and food, and throughout the night, ‘awakenings’ in the Tree of Life, which transform the park’s icon into a magical lighted canvas that comes to life with animal stories that emanate from within the tree.
