Melbourne, FL. El Gobernador Rick Scott se reunió hoy con Federico Curado presidente ejecutivo de Embraer S.A., y Gary Spulak presidente de Embraer Aircraft Holding Inc., en la apertura del nuevo centro de ingeniería tecnológica de la compañía, que va a ofrecer 200 empleos en los próximos cinco años.
El Gobernador Scott comentó que “traemos más empleo a la Florida al mismo tiempo que mejoramos el ambiente empresarial. Los 200 empleos nuevos significan que varias familias tendrán un cheque que traer a la casa, nuestro trabajo no ha terminado pero continuamos ofreciendo trabajos nuevos para que cada familia de la Florida alcance el sueño americano”.
El nuevo centro de Embraer de 67.000 pies cuadrados estará a cargo de la investigación y desarrollo de los productos y la tecnología propia de la compañía. Embraer es la compañía líder en la aviación comercial, agrícola y ejecutiva, además de ofrecer aviones militares y de seguridad. Es el segundo centro de investigación y desarrollado establecido fuera de São José dos Campos, Brasil.
Embraer consideró la disponibilidad de un campo abierto próximo a las instalaciones además de un ambiente empresarial favorable antes de ubicar el nuevo centro.
Gary Spulak presidente de Embraer Aircraft Holding Inc., dijo: “Este logro es una muestra de la asociación tan cercana que tenemos con la Florida y los funcionarios del desarrollo económico de la costa espacial de Melbourne, la que sin la aviación no tendría cabida. La apertura del centro es una hazaña para Embraer en el camino de ser una compañía global.
Embraer además de invertir $50 millones en la región planea asociarse con las universidades para descubrir programas académicos que beneficien a ambos. La compañía espera contratar a trabajadores locales.

GOVERNOR SCOTT BREAKS GROUND ON EMBRAER’S NEW ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY CENTER
Governor Rick Scott today was joined by Frederico Curado, President & CEO of Embraer S.A., and Gary Spulak, President, Embraer Aircraft Holding, Inc. to break ground on Embraer’s new Engineering and Technology Center, which will bring 200 jobs to Melbourne, Florida over the next five years.
“As we continue to create a better business climate, we are also bringing more jobs to Florida,” Governor Scott said. “These 200 new jobs mean more families will be able to bring a paycheck home, and although our work isn’t done, we’ll continue to work to grow jobs so every Florida family can enjoy the American dream.”
Embraer’s 67,000 square-foot Engineering and Technology Center will conduct research and development for both product and technology across Embraer’s business lines. Embraer is one of the world’s leading aircraft manufacturers for commercial, agricultural and executive aviation, in addition to defense and security support. It is only the second research and development facility established outside of their headquarters in São José dos Campos, Brazil.
When considering where to locate their new center, Embraer looked to the availability of green field start-up land and the proximity to established operations, along with a state and local pro-business climate.
“Breaking ground on the newest facility at our growing aeronautical cluster in Melbourne is an important milestone for Embraer on its path to becoming a truly global company,” said Gary Spulak, President of Embraer Aircraft Holding Inc. “This latest achievement is a testament to the close partnership we have with the state of Florida and economic development authorities on the Space Coast and Melbourne, without which this aviation campus would not have been possible.”
Along with Embraer’s $50 million capital investment to the area, they plan to partner with universities and other educational institutions in the U.S. and in Florida to develop programs of mutual benefit. The vast majority of employees are expected to be hired locally.
