The Children’s Services Council of Broward County (CSC) is proud to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its annual Broward: Read for the Record event on Thursday, October 24, 2024. This countywide initiative, in partnership with Broward schools, libraries, and local organizations, invites families, educators, community members, and volunteers to join Jumpstart’s national campaign to promote early childhood literacy.
The 2024 Read for the Record book selection, Piper Chen Sings by Grammy Award winner and
Tony-nominated actress Phillipa Soo and Maris Pasquale Doran, with illustrations by Qin Leng,
highlights the importance of self-expression, resilience, and the power of community. This beautifully illustrated story encourages children to embrace their unique voices and passions.
“For the past decade, Broward: Read for the Record has brought the community together through the love of reading,” said Cindy Arenberg Seltzer, President/CEO of CSC. “We are thrilled to mark this 10th anniversary with Piper Chen Sings and continue our mission to engage children, families, and educators in the joy and importance of literacy.”
