Maestro Alvise Casellati, President & Music Director Of Opera italiana is in the air, to host first free concert in Miami, FL on saturday, April 13 at Regatta Park

Maestro Alvise Casellati, President and Music Director of “Opera Italiana is in the Air,” a new concept for free, outdoor concerts in select U.S. cities, is pleased to announce its first ever performance in Miami, Florida on Saturday, April 13 at Regatta Park (2699 SW 27th Ave) at 8:00 PM. He will be presenting some of the greatest names in Italian Opera: Davinia Rodriguez (soprano) and Vincenzo Costanzo (tenor), who will sing for the first time in Miami and together. The orchestra will be composed of Miami’s top professionals in the first roles, leading local students and new graduates from the city’s major conservatories.

Its mission is to engage the diverse community of Miami, namely the younger generation, and encourage everyone to appreciate Italian Opera firsthand in a casual, family-friendly outdoor environment. Last year was its second presentation in New York’s Central Park, with thousands of people attending. This April, Maestro Casellati will conduct the orchestra composed of members of the top professional orchestras in Miami, and its repertoire will focus on arias and duets from Verdi’s “Traviata” and Puccini’s “Tosca.”

“This free community concert will be a special occasion to promote the Italian music and language,” said Maestro Casellati. “Our goal is to make people fall in love with classical music, thereby bringing a new audience to local theaters. Miami is an international hub filled with millennials, music aficionados, families and tourists, whom we feel would appreciate this rare performance.”

“Music is a universal language, and especially for my country it represents its history and culture,” said Cristiano Musillo, Consul General of Italy in Miami. “Through this concert, Italy and Maestro Casellati have chosen Miami to become the international stage for this incredible Opera lirica concert. Once more, this is a tangible sign of how strong and long-lasting the bond is between Italy and the City of Miami.”

This event is fully supported by the City of Miami and the Consulate General of Italy in Miami.  It was made possible by ENI, BEL Real Estate Group, Brooks Brothers, Intesa Sanpaolo, the Alexander Bodini Foundation, FIAC, ACP Group, W South Beach, Mela Holding Group spa and ‘O Magazine. Special thanks for their contribution to Diana Coppola De Dominicis and Amarylli Fridegotto, Board members of Key Biscayne Piano Festival.
