Meet Ruby Escalante-De Vitto, the new Manager Business Development Multicultural & Community Engagement at Visit Lauderdale.
Ruby was born and raised in Colombia, and she has lived in the U.S. for over 30 years. These years made Ruby develop a natural enthusiasm for diversity and multicultural affairs.
She has had a successful career in the corporate world. In addition; she has managed the Latin American region. This has led her to one of her passions: learning new languages so as to have a better understanding of the Brazilian culture.
In addition, she has studied Portuguese, which opened the doors to work directly with Brazil and Brazilians.Ruby has earned a bachelor’s degree with a double major in French and Spanish Literature. She also earned an M.B.A. with a concentration in International Business.
Her education complemented her personal background that has led her to where she now: a leader who is driven by thinking outside the box.
Ruby’s main goal as a Business Development Manager for “Visit Lauderdale,” is to build a liaison within the Hispanic and Latino community in Broward County. Thus, people from all backgrounds can come together to celebrate their differences and continue to find common ground.
Since she is fully trilingual, Ruby knows how to adapt quickly to new environments. For example, she focused on developing, growing, and managing international and domestic markets; she also built and enabled strategic partnerships, while creating and implementing customized sales experiences and marketing strategies.
Ruby’s gift for creativity makes her a passionate individual with a positive outlook. This outlook allowed her to grow the Latin American market for brands such as Logitech and Belkin. Ruby has also had a successful and unprecedented video game launching for “Grand Theft Auto V” throughout the entire continent.
It is quite obvious Ruby is an empathy-led individual who takes pride in helping others discover their power within.
Such traits as reliability, trustworthiness, and approachability make her the perfect professional to continue to develop partnerships, solid relationships with clients, peers and colleagues.
