CVS Health (NYSE: CVS) is addressing Florida’s need for greater access to mental health care by expanding its newly launched mental health counseling and care services to all Florida residents via MinuteClinic E-Clinic telehealth services. E-Clinic in-home video consults were created at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic as an innovative solution to further help MinuteClinic patients access safe, affordable and convenient non-emergency care for routine health care needs.
The company recently announced the availability of in-person mental health counseling services at five Tampa-area MinuteClinics inside CVS HealthHUB store locations. Now, by utilizing E-clinic visits, any Floridian unable to visit a participating HealthHUB location can virtually consult with a MinuteClinic Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSWs) from the comfort of home using a computer, smartphone or tablet. In-person counseling services are only available in the Tampa area.
When making an E-Clinic appointment in Florida, the new mental health counseling services allow individuals to receive private mental health assessments, counseling, personalized care plans and referrals to a higher level of care as needed through a video consultation.

Individuals who are interested in the new virtual mental health counseling services can expect:
An introductory conversation:
- During the initial assessment, a LCSW will help assess an individual’s current situation and explore potential options for care.
Personalized care planning:
- The LCSW will create an individualized care plan with the goal of improving an individual’s mental health and total wellbeing.
Counseling services for continual support:
- Ongoing counseling sessions with a LCSW are available to help address each individual’s areas of concern, including stress, anxiety and depression.
Navigation & collaboration:
- If an individual has a need for higher levels of care, the MinuteClinic LCSW will work with a local provider network based on the individual’s health care plan and coverage status. They will assist with finding an appropriate specialist and collaborate with the individual’s existing providers, when appropriate.
