El documental de Patricia San Pedro “Tengo Cáncer” fue galardonado con el Suncoast Emmy ® Award en la categoría de documentales en la 36 ª Anual deSuncoast Emmy ® Awards ceremonia el 1 de diciembre de 2012. Esto marca el cuarto Emmy de Pat.

Empecé grabando cuatro horas después de oír las palabras: “Tienes cáncer” porque intuitivamente sentí que estaba destinada a ayudar otros a través de mi propia danza concáncer. Fui paciente, el talento, director, productor y camarógrafa … todo envuelto en uno, a través de mimastectomía doble, diecisiete sesiones de quimioterapia y varios procedimientos de reconstrucción, la cámara nunca dejo de rodar “.
Discovery Familia en los Estados Unidos y Discovery Home & Health en América Latina saco al aire el documental durante el mes de octubre de Concientización sobre el Cáncer. El especial sigue la historia de la vida real de Patricia San Pedro, una exitoso ejecutivo con una carrera próspera cuya vida cambió totalmente después de ser diagnosticado con cáncer de mama, la misma enfermedad que se llevo sujoven madre, Daisy, 20 años anteriores. Pero Pat se dio la vuelta y usa su danza con el cáncer para ayudar a otros mediante la creación de una comunidad de la salud y el bienestar llamado Patricia Positiva.
Pat dedicó su premio Emmy al grupo de apoyo llamado The Link of Hope Sistas, mujeres valientes que hanescuchado las palabras: “Usted tiene cáncer” y han elegido a bailar a su manera a través de él con alegría. Juntas, ellas educan, motivan e inspiran a otras que bailan a través de cáncer de mama.

Waltzes to a Win at Emmy Awards
Patricia San Pedro’s documentary The Cancer Dancerwas awarded with a Suncoast Emmy® Award in the documentary category at the 36th Annual Suncoast Emmy® Awards ceremony on December 1, 2012. This marks the 4th Emmy for Pat and her production, PR and publishing company San Pedro Productions(www.SanPedroProductions.com). “This is reality TV on steroids! Well, actually . . . on chemo,” laughs Pat. “I’m proud of all my Emmys but this one means the most since it represents my own breast cancer healing journey and my desire to be of service. I started videotaping four hours after hearing the words, ‘You have cancer’ because I intuitively felt that I was meant to help others through my own dance with cancer. I was patient, talent, director, camerawoman and producer . . . all wrapped up into one. Through my double mastectomy, seventeen sessions of chemotherapy and several reconstruction procedures, the camera never stopped rolling.”
Discovery Familia in the United States and Discovery Home & Health in Latin America aired the documentary during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness month. The special follows the real life story of Patricia San Pedro, a successful executive with a thriving career whose life was turned upside down after being diagnosed with breast cancer, a fate suffered by her young mom, Daisy, 20 years prior. But Pat turned it around and used her dance with cancer to help others by creating a health and wellness community called Positively Pat.
Pat dedicated her Emmy Award to the Positively Pat support group she created called The Link of Hope Sistas, courageous women who’ve heard the words, “You have cancer” and have chosen to dance their way through it in joy. Together they empower, educate, encourage and inspire others who will dance their way through breast cancer.
