The Miami Rescue Mission (MRM) | Broward Outreach Centers (BOC) was chosen as the recipient of a Good Neighbor grant from State Farm. As we are faced with an increased need during COVID19, local State Farm agents also made personal donations and leveraged State Farm Matching Gift Program resulting in total State Farm and their agents donating at least $10,000.
“It is such a blessing to receive this support from State Farm. So many homeless men and women will continue to benefit from the donations by State Farm,” said Marilyn Brummitt, Vice President of Development at MRM | BOC. “Many people come to our shelters and street outreaches feeling hopeless, worthless and defeated, but through these donations we can continue to serve those in need by providing them with necessary resources to give them strength to strive for more.”
Through the years, State Farm continues to support the MRM | BOC in holding multiple clothing, food, hygiene and toy drives benefitting the homeless in both Broward and Miami- Dade Counties. This is the fourteenth year, State Farm partners with us.
“We know that the Mission works tirelessly to support the homeless and those in need every day and especially during COVID-19” says Jose Soto, State Farm Corporate Responsibility Analyst. “Our State Farm agents are thankful and appreciate everything the Miami Rescue Mission / Broward Outreach does to make a difference in our community.”
